Mercedes just launched an ultra extreme 604 horsepower “biturbo” V-12 engine, with a 600-watt sound system, night-vision display and a zero to 60 time under five seconds. The S65 AMG is capable of 155 mph. Night vision is starting to show up in high end cars allowing drivers a pilot like view of the road. Its allows the driver to “see” further than conventional lights thus improves safety at night.
Together with radar cruise control, it is very high tech car. How does radar cruise control work? Behind the front grill, a forward looking radar detects speed and distance of objects in front of it. Unlike conventional cruise control, radar cruise control not only maintains speed, but it calculates safe distance based on the vehicle speed and automatically adjust the safe distance. It’s has a microprocessor for its brains and can warn the driver to slow down or take evasive action. On some systems, radar cruise control is wired to the brakes and can even brake the car safely.
