The Mitsibishi Triton was officially launched today. It replaces the L200 Storm which was lead the way being the first 4×4 truck to have an automatic transmission then. The Triton also breaks new ground. No longer is it squarish like most 4×4 trucks you see on the roads in here. It’s rather futuristic especially when view from the side.

It has a curvy rear box and look part of the cab rather than a box that is stuck to the rear like in the current twin cab truck. The Triton look attractive and comes with a newly developed 2.5-litre turbodiesel intercooled engine with 135bhp at 3,500rpm and torque of 314Nm at 2,000rpm. It’s four-wheel drive system has a high-low transfer ratio and a hybrid limited slip differential to reduce wheel slip under extreme conditions.

With the power rating, it will overtake Nissan’s Frontier as the most powerful 4×4 truck on our shores.
