Michael Schumacher To Retire

Michael Schumacher announced his
retirement from Formula 1 after winning the Monza Grand Prix. It was an
announcement many people were waiting for but the team and Michael
managed to keep his decision until after the race.

In an emotional interview after the race, Michael Schumacher says it
is the right time to announce his retirement and he looks forward to
winning the next 3 races. He’s absence will be felt from the Fromula 1
circuit when he leaves as he is one of the most successful driver in
recent years.

Michael started from no. 2 on the grid at Monza to take the
chequered flag after leap froging over Kimi Raikonen at the first pit
stop. His win reduced Fernando Alonso’s championship lead of to just
over 2 points. The Renault of Alonso seem underpowered for the whole
race, never matching the pace of Ferrari and McLaren. Even then Alonso
climbed as high as 3rd spot before his engine gave up. It will be an
interesting last 3 races this year and it would be good to see Michael Schumacher retires on a winning note.
