Nissan 370Z

I, like many car enthusiast fell in love with the Nissan 350Z when it was launched a few years back. Even today, the look, while a bit dated still manages to turn heads on roads where sports cars are not that common. But still, it is time for a new Z series and the 370Z picks up where the 350Z left off.

The 370Z in so named because it has a 3.7 liter V6, engine vs a 3.5 liter V6 in the 350Z, producing 332 hp and 265 lb-ft of maximum torque. This is mated either to a new 6-speed manual transmission or a new 7-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed 370Z will be the first to offer a synchronized downshift rev matching system with a manual transmission. How cool.

The 370z is new in several ways. Usually, as cars mature, they tend to get bigger, the 370z is smaller is almost every aspect. The wheelbase is shorter, so is the overall length and is lighter compared to its predecessor. Nissan used aluminium for the hood as well as doors!

From some angles, the 370Z sure looks very Porsche like. More competition again? As if the still brewing tussle between the GT-R and 911 GT2 is not enough.

With the 370Z barely hitting the showrooms, Nismo, the performance arm of Nissan is already busy tweaking a meaner 370Z and allowed some photos to be leaked out. Nice looking spoiler, don’t you think?

The interior have similar treatment to the GT-R. Full of gauges and will definitely feed the geek in us.
