- It won Top Gear’s 2007 Supercar of the year award
- The engine and rear-mounted dual clutch gearbox are built by hand. Only around 1000 cars can be made a month.
- It can pop your eyes out i.e. it can hit 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) as low as 3.2 seconds
- It won the 2008 Super GT season at Suzuka on its maiden run and the following race with a 100 kg weight penalty
- You can hack the ECU to produce 590hp in case 470 hp is not enough.
- You are actually getting around 510hp at the crank rather than 420hp as claimed.
- The theme for the GT-R according to designer Shiro Nakamura is muscle upon muscle upon muscle. Enuff said.

- It got beaten by 3 seconds on the Nuburgring by a Corvette
- Sales is so good, Nissan decided to upped the price by $ 6,000
- The Japs programmed it so that it can only do 180km/h unless it is on a Nissan approved race track (limited by GPS and ECU) or unless you hack the ECU
- The gearbox might not take 590hp for very long.
- It weighs almost 4,000 lbs
- You can get a similarly fun toy for about half the price via the Evolution X sans the electronic gadgets. Off course only has about 300 hp.
- You are likely to crash it. There are already news of this.
- You might want a Spec-V GT-R
- Can’t think of any other reason why you won’t want a GT-R
