The new Toyota Camry was launched by UMW Toyota Motors a few days ago. Although the model have been spotted earlier by some sharp observer mi of 2006. The new model have the same body length, by longer wheelbase and a forward cab design which is the current trend in most auto makers worldwide. Engine capacity remains the same with two engine sizes, the 2.0 and 2.4 litre with Variable Valve Timing – Intelligence, VVT-i.

At first glance, the rear have some resemblence to currrent BMW 7 series or if you just focus on the rear lights, a bit like the City. Features include the now standard ABS, brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, and stability control (for the 2.4V version). Also the now popular Optitron instrument cluster, and HID headlamps. The 2.4V Camry with a five-speed automatic transmission is priced at RM168,303, while the 2.0G and 2.0E versions with the four-speed automatic gearbox are priced at RM149,053 and RM139,066. Unlike the previous Toyota Camry, this one will be assembled in Thailand and brought in as CBU.
