Suzuki SX4

Launched in Malaysia recently, the Suzuki SX4 is classed as a Crossover vehicle i.e. a cross between a sedan and a full fledged SUV. Locally the SX4 comes with 2 wheel drive only but in other markets, it has an advanced all wheel drive (AWD) like many such cars today. Driving the front wheels in highway mode and powering the rear in less ideal road situations. The AWD in the SX4 can be locked in really bad conditions like snow (which we won’t find here), soft sand or mud.

The SX4 is powered by a 1.6 L 16-valve DOHC VVT (Variable Valve Timing) engine found on the Suzuki Swift Sport, but detuned to 100bhp at 5,600rpm and 140Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Modern features include front dual SRS airbags, ABS with electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.

I looked around the forums elsewhere and found an interesting SX4 converted to NGV from Italy. The conversion looks great with dual NGV tanks (not like the monstrosity single large tanks we hare here) to occupy the space flat on the boot space taking the place of the spare tire. The owner report approximately 10 HP less with NGV compared to gasoline.

Well even though it is a new car, with fuel prices going up soon, NGV might be a good option.
