After years of low gas prices and huge gas guzzlers, current fuel prices is more than starting to hurt car enthusiast and commuters alike. Alternative fuel vehicles are making a slow but sure come back. Tesla Roadster have proved that electric vehicles (EV) don’t have to be slow and boring. Off course you can also hack an old VW Beetle (see the video below) to make your own EV that you can charge with solar electricity, while major car makers drag their feet to come up with a affordable everyday electric car.
Mean time, check out what a X1 Prototype by wrightspeed (a modified car using an Atom chassis) did to a Ferrari 360 Modena and a Porsche Carrera GT. The only thing missing is a sound track. Not the sound track from this video but for all car buffs and hot blooded male, any car, electric or otherwise must sound good. Looks like we will be hooking up recorded sound of engines to pump out of speakers so that such EV don’t sound like your son’s remote control toy.
