GM plans to install remote control in vehicles using OnStar systems that can not only open doors, but slow down cars as well as switch on the flashers upon request from police officers to ensure that is the correct car in question. Designed specifically to stop car thief and other felon, thus looks like something out of TV but this is real.

Current statistics show about 300 people getting killed in car chase. With this systems, thieves will no longer have horsepower. High end luxury cars also have something similar and I’m sure more car makers will adopt this as prices come down. This is the beginning of the end for car jackers, kidnappers, and joy rides.
